What is social foresight?

As I have explained on the “Who? Why?” page in this section, there is more than one meaning, that can be attached with the term. I will add some text here in the near future. In respect to Richard Slaughter (Australian Foresight Institute) I like to quote his definition as a really good starting point:

“Social foresight is the ability to create and sustain a variety of high quality images and understandings about futures and apply these in a range of socially useful ways; for example, to develop policy, guide strategy, avoid or mitigate disasters and pursue social innovations.”
